On Habits That Change:





I’ve always thought of myself as this clumsy person who drops and breaks things. What once seemed like a light quirk gradually felt more significant. The constant accident hinted at a deeper issue.


Coffee was a central part of my life. It wasn’t just a morning drink but a key element of my daily routine and even integrated into M/C3’s culture. I remember when we set up our first office in 2017, the coffee bar was our first finalized piece. It wasn’t just about the caffeine; it symbolized creativity and connection which is why it was woven into our brand’s image.

However, over time, I stopped craving coffee. What was once a desr ritual became something I couldn’t stand. It wasn’t until I took a break from coffee that I noticed a change. My clumsiness seemed to improve, revealing that coffee might have been affecting me more than I realized.


The link between coffee and my clumsiness was unexpected. I switched to matcha, enjoying its gentler energy. Eventually, even matcha became occasional, and water became my daily choice. This change didn’t come from a major event but from a quiet realization that my needs had evolved.






Embracing Change

I take the shift in my coffee habits as a metaphor for embracing change. Personal growth often requires recognizing that what once served us may no longer be good for Us. Change is a natural part of life and essential for personal and professional development.


Understanding Change: Change is a fundamental aspect of life. It can be triggered by external events—such as a job change, a move to a new city, or a shift in personal circumstances—or by internal realizations and growth. Understanding and accepting change can help us navigate life’s transitions more smoothly.


The Psychological Perspective: Psychologists often talk about change as a process of adaptation. According to the stages of change model, individuals go through different phases when adapting to new habits or circumstances: pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance. This model highlights that change is a gradual process and that acceptance and adaptation take time.

Embracing Change: Embracing change involves a shift in mindset. It’s about seeing change as an opportunity rather than a threat. When we accept that change is inevitable, we can approach it with curiosity and openness, leading to personal growth and new possibilities.

At M/C3, embracing change is crucial. Our methods and strategies evolve to stay relevant and innovative. Just like our personal habits, our business practices should change to meet new challenges and opportunities.
